Mr Stephen Maguire
Sports Rehabilitation · Dublin
About
He holds a Higher Certificate in Physiology and Health Science from the Institute of Technology, Carlow earned in 2019, and is an ITEC-certified Personal Trainer. Stephen has also completed multiple specialist courses in Functional Patterns, further refining his expertise in this method.
Stephen’s journey into biomechanics was shaped by personal experience. Earlier in his career, he followed more traditional training approaches. However, within months, he began experiencing pain and recurring injuries, prompting him to question conventional fitness methods.
This led him to explore the Functional Patterns training system, which is based on how humans have evolved to stand, walk, run, and throw. The emphasis on training the body according to these fundamental movement patterns resonated with him and transformed his understanding of health and performance.
Today, Stephen applies this philosophy to help clients reduce pain, improve posture, and move more efficiently in everyday life.
“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
