Dr. Sobia Nasim is a Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Jumeirah branch of Medcare Medical Centre. She completed her MBBS degree, followed by comprehensive training in Psychiatry at The Royal College of Surgeons Ireland (RCSI) in Dublin, where she earned her MRCPsych (Member of The Royal College of Psychiatrists UK). Dr. Nasim further honed her expertise with a Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in Ireland, alongside a Diploma in Health Service Management from the UK. She holds membership in The College of Psychiatrists, Ireland, and is trained in the Autism Diagnostic Schedule (ADOS).
Having initially contributed to the development of Child Psychiatry services in Brunei, Dr. Nasim gained valuable cross-cultural experience before returning to Ireland to complete her Higher Specialist Training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Her professional journey includes roles within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in Ireland, where she led and supervised multidisciplinary teams.
Dr. Nasim's approach to patient care is personalised, recognising the unique needs of each individual and their family. She specialises in treating a wide range of conditions, including depression, anxiety disorders, OCD, PTSD, eating disorders, psychosis, Autism, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and emotional dysregulation. Additionally, Dr. Nasim manages parenting issues, behavioural challenges, school refusal, attachment disorders, and conducts thorough suicide risk assessments.
