About Dr Simon Goldenberg
Dr. Simon Goldenberg is a highly experienced and respected consultant microbiologist who joined Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust in 2005. He practises privately at London Bridge Hospital. He has a keen interest in healthcare-associated infections (particularly Clostridium difficile infections) and all aspects of infection prevention and control, making him an invaluable asset to the team. Dr. Goldenberg is also the assistant editor of the Journal of Hospital Infection. His areas of expertise are infection prevention and control, decontamination, healthcare-associated infections. Specialist interests: • healthcare associated infections • clostridium difficile infections • infection prevention and control • decontamination • engineering aspects of infection control and the built environment • antimicrobial resistance • laboratory diagnostics (including molecular and point of care). Dr. Goldenberg received his medical degree in 2001 from Queen Mary University of London before going on to undertake a postgraduate diploma in infectious diseases at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He then obtained his FRCSPath from the Royal College of Pathologists. He also holds an MD (Res) in molecular epidemiology and diagnostics for infectious diseases from King's College London (2012).
