About
Dr Parsons has experience in the field of family law and has carried out expert assessments for the courts. Therapy has also been a large part of their work and they have extensive experience in working with individuals and groups. Dr Parsons has taught anger management and enhanced thinking skills to perpetrators of domestic violence, worked on post-traumatic symptoms with victims, used cognitive behaviour therapy with sexual abuse survivors, used brief therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy to treat anxiety and depression and used behavioural therapy in the treatment of phobias. Dr Parsons is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and solution-focused therapies.
Dr Parsons has now stopped taking on new cases, although they will continue to undertake work on cases where they have been previously instructed, in order to focus upon training development, research and new therapeutic initiatives.
