Mr Shane O'Hara is a Psychotherapist and Psychoanalyst based in Limerick, with a strong academic background and extensive experience in diverse clinical settings. He holds an MSc in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, a PGDip in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and a BA in Psychology. Currently, Shane is pursuing a Special Modality Training in Psychoanalysis at the School of Psychotherapy in St. Vincent’s University Hospital, Dublin.
Throughout his career, Shane has worked across various specialised clinics including those focused on Suicide and Self-Harm Intervention, Divorce and Separation, Unemployment, and within Secondary Schools and Psychotherapeutic Centres. His training includes expertise in autism assessment, and he serves as the secretary for the Ethnic Minority Special Interest Group with the PSI (Psychological Society of Ireland).
Shane offers therapy to individuals of all ages, providing both short-term and long-term therapeutic interventions. His therapeutic approach is comprehensive, addressing a wide range of issues such as depression, anxiety, self-harm, suicidal ideation, sexuality, stress, bereavement, and compulsions.
