About Dr Sampath de Silva
Dr Sampath De Silva is a well experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist at Ashford and St Peter's NHS Trust, seeing private patients at The Runnymede Hospital. With a primary focus on liver disease, he adeptly manages patients with various gastroenterological conditions. Dr De Silva holds the position of training lead for endoscopy at Ashford and St Peter's NHS Trust, where he regularly performs upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy procedures. Dr De Silva obtained his undergraduate degree from St George's, University of London in 2006. Throughout his advanced gastroenterology training, he gained invaluable experience working at renowned medical institutions such as the Liver and Gastroenterology Units at the Royal London Hospital, the Royal Free Hospital, and King's College Hospital. In 2019, he successfully completed his PhD in liver disease research from Queen Mary, University of London. His expertise is evident through his authorship of medical journal articles and presentations at both local and national medical meetings. Dr De Silva has made significant contributions to the hepatology service at St Peter's Hospital, particularly in the management of advanced liver disease and viral hepatitis.
