About
His clinical work involves the care of patients admitted with a range of respiratory and medical conditions, outpatient management, and teaching medical students and junior doctors. He also undertakes regular procedure lists, including flexible bronchoscopy and endobronchial ultrasound. Dr Khalid holds honorary academic positions as Senior Lecturer at UCLan School of Medicine and Lancaster University.
He manages patients with asthma, COPD, bronchiectasis, sarcoidosis, interstitial lung disease, and lung cancer, with a subspecialty interest in chronic cough. He completed his PhD at the University of Manchester in 2012, focusing on the mechanisms and treatment of chronic cough, and has established a dedicated clinic for this condition.
Dr Khalid is Research Lead and Clinical Governance Lead for respiratory medicine in East Lancashire, has published on chronic cough and COPD, and contributed to the British Thoracic Society guidelines on flexible bronchoscopy.
