About Dr Richard Shenderey
Dr Richard Shenderey is a Consultant Gastroenterologist based at The Yorkshire Clinic in Bingley as well as Airedale General Hospital. Clinic times: Monday evenings, 5 pm - 8 pm plus ad hoc telephone/video clinics available at other times - please email or telephone for further details. He offers face to face, video and telephone consultations. Dr Shenderey is an accredited endoscopist who specialises in endoscopy and inflammatory bowel disease. His clinical interests include: • Endoscopy • Colonoscopy • Flexible Sigmoidoscopy • Coeliac Disease • Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) • Ulcerative Colitis • Crohn's Disease • Liver Disease • Abdominal Pain • Indigestion • Heartburn and Reflux He gained his MBBS in 1999 from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, where he graduated with distinction. In 2015, he became a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians. From 2016 to 2019, he held the position of secondary care consultant to the governing body for the North Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group. Additionally, he is involved in research and has been the principal investigator on a number of gastroenterology trials. Dr Shenderey has been a consultant with the NHS since 2009 predominantly at Airedale General Hospital in West Yorkshire, specialising in gastroenterology, and he is the clinical lead for the specialty. Outside of the hospital, Dr Shenderey enjoys running. He is married and has three children and two dog.
