Dr Becky Mawson is a General Practitioner with a special interest in women’s health, specialising in the assessment and management of sexual and reproductive health conditions in primary care. Her clinical work includes contraception, fertility, menopause care, and the diagnosis and management of conditions such as endometriosis, adenomyosis, and polycystic ovary syndrome.
Dr Mawson studied medicine at the University of Leeds before completing foundation training in Leeds and Dewsbury. She subsequently gained clinical experience in obstetrics and gynaecology, including work in New Zealand, and completed her GP training in Harrogate in 2014.
She has undertaken additional postgraduate training in women’s health and holds qualifications including the Diploma of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (DFSRH), the Diploma of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (DRCOG), and a Diploma in Medical Gynaecology and Obstetrics. Her clinical practice includes the management of a wide range of gynaecological and reproductive health conditions within primary care.
Dr Mawson holds an academic role as an NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sheffield and has completed a doctoral MD focused on inequalities in sexual and reproductive health in general practice. Her research interests include improving early diagnosis and access to care for conditions such as endometriosis and polycystic ovary syndrome, as well as broader work in contraception, menopause, and inclusive health research.
In addition to her clinical and academic work, she is involved in digital health research, including projects exploring the impact of hormonal contraception and the development of digital tools to support women’s health.
Dr Mawson currently practises as a General Practitioner in Sheffield and works privately at LivingCare, including at the Canon Medical Arena, Sheffield Medical Diagnostic Centre.
