In this time, his work focused on ground-breaking studies into prostate cancer. In 2011, he was appointed as a consultant urologist in Newcastle, where he ultimately became professor. He recently moved to a new professorial position at Imperial College London as Chair of Urology. In 2021, he received a National Clinical Excellence award from the Department of Health in recognition of his dedication to patient care, expertise and leadership in the field of urology.
