Prof Kavin Andi

Professor Kavin Andi is an experienced consultant maxillo-facial surgeon who specialises in ablative and reconstructive head and neck cancer surgery. He is based at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in London and is also an honorary professor of digital engineering applied to surgery at Cranfield University. He has expertise in a wide range of areas, including the following: • Rapid diagnostics for suspected cancers • Neck lumps • Red and white patches • Mouth and face cancer • Head and neck cancers • Lumps on the lip and tongue • Osteoradionecrosis • Facial and lingual nerve repair • Reanimation surgery • Parotid gland surgery • Microvascular Free Flap Reconstruction • Facial skin cancer surgery • Dental implants • Smile reconstruction • Personal injury and clinical negligence cases Prof. Andi completed his dental and medical degrees at Bart's and the London School of Medicine before embarking on basic surgical training in Essex. He then completed the London Deanery Higher Surgical Training Programme in Oral and Maxillo-Facial Surgery and went on to earn the title of Intercollegiate Fellow of the Royal College of Surgery in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Additionally, he was ranked as the top maxillo-facial ENT by the Joint Committee for Higher Surgical Training, which led to his Advanced Head and Neck Cancer Surgery Interface Training Fellowship and the Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy. Prof. Andi has held a number of other prestigious positions, including Regional Speciality Advisor to the Royal College of Surgeons of England, external examiner for Kings College University, professional reviewer for MacMillan Cancer, and peer reviewer for the National Institute for Health Research. He has also previously been the President of the Institute of Maxillofacial Prosthetists and Technologists. He is active in research, with interests such as augmented reality for cancer surgery, 3D surgical planning, surgical robots, and machine learning applied to surgery.
