Dr Hamann is a Consultant Rheumatologist. Dr Hamann's research interests focus on developing methods to monitor and manage individuals with rheumatoid arthritis remotely using remotely captured data from smartphones and wearables.
Dr Hamann graduated from the University of Nottingham before undertaking clinical training at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital and the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases and North Bristol NHS Trust. They completed their PhD using data from the British Society for Rheumatology Biologics Register for Rheumatoid Arthritis (BSRBR-RA) to investigate the predictors of response to anti-tumour necrosis factor (TNF). Dr Hamann is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians and has been a Fellow of the Turing Institute (the UK Centre for Artificial Intelligence Research) and an NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Fellow.
