Focused on diagnosing and treating a diverse range of conditions affecting the lower extremities, Mr Phyo has conducted numerous procedures addressing issues such as ankle fractures, arthritis of the foot and ankle, bunions, hammer toes, plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendon injuries, ligament sprains and tears, neuromas, tarsal tunnel syndrome, flat feet, high arches, and diabetic foot disease.
Whether performing surgical intervention or non-surgical treatments like physical therapy or orthotics, Mr Phyo works diligently to create comprehensive treatment plans that address specific concerns, aiming to achieve the best possible outcomes. His primary focus remains on enhancing patients' quality of life and facilitating their swift return to daily activities.
Mr Phyo has performed nearly 100 bunion correction and 50 ankle arthroscopy and ankle stabilisation procedures, along with over 100 complex foot and ankle trauma procedures in his NHS practice. He graduated from the Institute of Medicine (1) Yangon in 2002. His professional journey includes basic surgical training at Royal Cornwall Hospital, orthopaedic registrar training at Frimley Park Hospital, and foot and ankle fellowship training at Heatherwood Hospital in Ascot, Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, and King’s College Hospital in London.
In addition to his clinical work, Mr Phyo actively contributes to medical research and education, publishing articles in leading medical journals. Mr Phyo is described by patients as approachable, compassionate, and highly skilled.
