Dr Nadine De Alwis is an ENT surgeon specialising in otorhinolaryngology, with particular expertise in ear surgery and cochlear implantation. She completed a Bachelor of Science followed by a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Melbourne in 2006, and went on to achieve Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2018.
Dr De Alwis undertook her early surgical training at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne before continuing her training in Ballarat. She was later appointed as a Consultant at Cairns Private Hospital, where she developed extensive experience in both adult and paediatric ENT surgery.
In 2019, she completed a Neurotology Fellowship at St Vincent’s Health Network Sydney, gaining advanced expertise in complex ear and skull base procedures. Her specialist skills include mastoidectomy, stapedectomy, cochlear implantation, bone conduction implants, and acoustic neuroma surgery, as well as endoscopic ear surgery and the management of sudden sensorineural hearing loss.
Dr De Alwis has a strong interest in paediatric ENT, including tonsil surgery such as tonsillectomy and tonsillotomy. She also manages a wide range of conditions including otosclerosis, dizziness, and benign parotid masses, and performs procedures such as cholesteatoma surgery, grommet insertion, turbinate surgery, skull base tumour surgery, and hearing rehabilitation.
