About Prof Zameel Cader
Professor Cader is a Neurology specialist. Professor Cader's research centres around understanding the mechanisms behind neurogenetic disorders, such as migraine and nerve degeneration. A significant focus of their research is on headache and pain disorders, using human stem cell disease models and preclinical models to further this understanding. Professor Cader is also interested in developing improved human blood-brain-barrier models. Professor Cader studied Medicine at the University of Birmingham (1991-97) and continued their general medical training in Oxford. They spent three years working on the genetic linkage and association of neurological disorders at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics. After obtaining their DPhil in 2003, they completed their training in Clinical Neurology at Oxford.
