Mr Usman did his undergraduate training at the University of St. Andrews and the University of Manchester. Mr Usman came to Shropshire in 2001 as a Consultant Breast and General Surgeon after completing his specialist surgical training in the West Midlands. He now concentrates exclusively on Breast Surgery and is the Clinical Lead for Breast Surgery at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust.
He has extensive experience in the management of breast diseases especially breast cancer and family history of breast cancer. He is also the Lead Breast Screening Surgeon for Shropshire and has a high workload of screen detected cancers. He has also been the Director for Breast Screening for Shropshire since 2016.
