Mr Sunil K Sah is the first Nepalese-born, now British, dual-qualified Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in the UK. He studied Dentistry at the University of Dhaka and Medicine at the University of London, earning his MFDS and MRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He completed specialist training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery across Leicester, Derby, Lincoln and Nottingham, followed by a locum consultant post at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford before taking up his substantive NHS consultant role in 2014.
With a specialist focus on oral surgery, facial deformity, salivary gland disease, TMJ disorders, trauma and dental implants, Mr Sah combines clinical excellence with strong academic, teaching and global health interests. He holds an MSc in Oncology from the University of Nottingham and completed an AOCMF Fellowship under Prof. Rainer Schmelzeisen in Germany.
Dedicated to improving surgical care in low and middle-income countries, he has developed training programmes and services in Nepal, India and Bangladesh. He holds an Honorary Visiting Professorship at T.U. Teaching Hospital, Kathmandu, and is a Trustee of Future Faces, a UK charity advancing craniomaxillofacial care globally. He also contributed to the book The Earthquake Nepal 2015 – The Human Story, sharing his experiences treating facial trauma.
