• I have been employed as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon for over 16 years, having trained in the East Midlands with Fellowships in Boston, USA and Brisbane, Australia. My areas of interest include revision knee surgery, orthopaedic infection and computer aided surgery including robotic surgery.
• Qualified MB ChB with honours, Birmingham 1993
• FRCS 1998, FRCS(orth) 2004
• Doctorate of Medicine (MD) sponsored by award of Royal College of Surgeons Research Fellowship researching novel methods for treating implant infection.
• Numerous peer reviewed publications. Book chapter in "Surgical Treatment of Hip Arthritis: Reconstruction, Replacement and Revision" Hozack, Parvizi and Bender. Presentations and teaching Nationally and Internationally on Knee Arthroplasty and Knee Revision.
• Clinical Director Department of Orthopaedics University Hospitals of Derby and Burton, based at Royal Derby Hospital. The latter is one of a handful of units with excellent National Joint Registry survivorship for both hip and knee replacement surgery.
