About Mr Simon Coope

Simon Coope is a highly experienced Musculoskeletal (MSK) Podiatrist and Biomechanics Specialist with more than 30 years in clinical practice. His career has spanned the NHS, private hospitals, elite sports environments, and medico-legal expert witness work, giving him a unique depth of expertise in foot and lower limb biomechanics. He is committed to evidence-based care and has a particular focus on the prevention and management of complex musculoskeletal conditions. In elite sport, Simon has worked directly with Premier League football and Rugby League teams, collaborating closely with Health & Science staff to optimise performance and reduce injury risk. He also supports local athletes across a wide variety of disciplines, from recreational runners to competitors in niche sports. In 2003, Simon was commissioned by the Home Office to conduct an audit on the benefits of podiatric biomechanical assessment and preventative treatment for police recruits, with the aim of reducing work-related injuries. Areas of expertise: • Lower limb biomechanics and orthotic therapy • Sports injury prevention and rehabilitation • Gait analysis • Complex musculoskeletal presentations Special interests include: • Inflammatory joint disease • Podo-paediatrics • Fibromyalgia • Hypermobility Syndrome • Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome Alongside his clinical practice, Simon delivers training for GPs and other healthcare professionals.
