Mr Sharan Jayaram is a consultant head and neck surgeon who treats patients with ear, nose, and throat disorders. His particular interest is in head and neck surgery, thyroid surgery, endoscopic skill base surgery and laryngology, and he is involved in a number of head and neck cancer clinical trials. Mr Jayaram works with the Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (where he is peciality traininglead for education), as well as BMI Beardwood Hospital and Buckshaw hospital(Ramsay group).
Mr Jayaram has a wealth of experience in the field and started his career in 2001 when he qualified with his MBBS degree. He then went on to complete his ENT training at AIIMS, New Delhi, before undertaking a two-year fellowship in the UK where he specialised in head and neck cancer, thyroid surgery, and voice disorders. He also gained expertise in cancer surgery as an international visiting scholar at the University of Pittsburg Medical Center.
Mr Jayaram has a passion for medical education and is currently an honorary senior lecturer at Edgehill University. He is a member of a number of organisations including the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the British Association of Head and Neck Oncologists.
