Mr Saeed Mohammad is one of the UK's leading Consultant Spinal Surgeons with over 17 years experience. He is Clinical Lead at the North West Spinal Unit at Salford Royal Hospital. Mr Mohammed trained in Glasgow and Newcastle and then went on to practice and gain experience at the Birmingham Spinal Unit before moving to Manchester.

Dr Saeed Mohammed is a dedicated spinal surgeon, trained in deformity surgery and also has a specialist interest in complex cervical spine surgery and scoliosis. His expertise in this field allows him to carry out surgery for degenerative conditions of the whole spine, tumours, infection and trauma. He also has extensive experience and knowledge of spinal surgery and current specialist interests in Biomechanics of the Spine.

Mr Saeed Mohammad has developed pioneering treatment for degenerative scoliosis. He is also developing innovative tumour surgery alongside thoracic surgeons. Patients are referred to him from across the region due to his expertise in this field.

As well as teaching (both at undergraduate and post graduate levels) for Manchester University Medical School he also does some basic science research and has published articles in peer review journals and given presentations nationally and internationally. Mr Saeed Mohammed believes that outcome measures are important to assess success of treatment and is part of an international group collecting data on patient outcomes after surgery.
