After earning his medical degree (MBBS) in 1998 from Baroda, India, Mr Malek completed his junior doctor training in the Mersey Deanery. He then received formal Orthopaedic Registrar training in Wales and obtained his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (Tr&Orth) in 2009. Mr Malek further honed his skills in joint replacement and reconstruction surgery during his fellowship at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore. He began his consultant career in Liverpool before settling in Stafford. Until the end of 2018, his NHS base was University Hospitals of North Midlands, Stoke on Trent. He has since transitioned to full-time private practice, serving both private patients and those through the NHS Choose and Book system.

Mr Malek's expertise has earned him several accolades, including the award for 'The Best Trauma Orthopaedic Surgeon in Staffordshire 2018' by Global Health and Pharma Awards, and the 'Hip and Knee Surgeon of the Year 2024' at the same awards. Additionally, he received the iWantGreatCare certificate of excellence in 2022, 2023 and  2024 for delivering outstanding care.
