Mr Ravindra Gudena is a Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon at St Helens and Knowsley NHS Trust, specialising in primary and revision hip and knee replacement.

He Completed one year of Fellowship in Canada and visited centers across Canada and United States of America to enhance his clinical and academic experience. He has strong academic background and published extensively in his specialty of interest.
He uses latest techniques in treating the hip and knee problems including minimally invasive hip and knee replacements, patient specific knee replacements (TruMatch) ConforMIS 3D printed customised knee replacement and PRP (platelet rich plasma) injections for chronic tendon, bursa problems.
Mr Gudena is one of the very few surgeons in the region who can perform HIP ARTHROSCOPY to treat hip impingement and peri-acetabular osteotomies (bone turning procedure for shallow hip socket) for dysplastic hips.
He is one of the first few surgeons in UK and the first Surgeon in North West to do 3D printed customised ConforMIS Knee replacement, which gives excellent results.
He performs over 300 primary joint replacement procedures a year and 50 hip and knee revision surgeries. He also performs over 120 hip arthroscopies in a year.
He has special interest in infection control and he is the Clinical lead and Consultant champion for infection control and Clinical lead for thromboprophylaxis (DVT prevention) at St Helens and Knowsley NHS Trust. He is the joint replacement surgery lead for St Helens and Knowsley NHS Trust and BOA Champion for Joint replacements.
