Mr. Rahul Lunawat is a highly qualified consultant urological surgeon whose NHS practice is based out of The Princess Royal University Hospital as part of King's College Hospital.
His special interest lies in kidney stones, but he also performs an extensive range of procedures for general urology patients too.
He originally qualified in medicine in India in 2001 before coming to the UK in 2002, where he worked at several different hospitals. After completing his basic surgical training and MD (clinical research) at University College London, he secured a specialist training position in Leeds in 2010. He went on to complete his FRCS (Urol) in 2014 and then had sub-specialist fellowship training focused on stone and upper tract disease at Nottingham in 2015.
Mr Lunawat has been involved with presenting at national meetings as well as being published numerous times in peer-reviewed publications. Additionally, he worked as a tutor at UCL Medical School.
