Since his appointment, Mr Magill has become the first in Northern Ireland to undertake and introduce day-care hip replacement surgery. He is also a keen advocate for the improvement of clinical outcomes, evidenced by his Master's degree in Surgery. Mr Magill is also a regular publisher in clinical journals and is frequently invited to speak at orthopaedic conferences.
