About

Mr Neil Walker is a double fellowship-trained consultant Orthopaedic Hand and Wrist surgeon at Liverpool University Hospital, The Sefton Suite, Liverpool and Spire Murrayfield, Wirral. Mr Walker specialises in the management of hand and wrist conditions. He is available for consultations in the NHS (via a GP and the Choose and Book System) and in the private sector.

Neil Walker qualified from the University of Glasgow in 1999. Following early surgical training in Portsmouth and Plymouth, he completed Higher Specialist training in Trauma and Orthopaedics in the Edinburgh and Wessex deaneries, incorporating a 6-month trauma fellowship at University Hospital Coventry. He successfully passed his final specialist Trauma and Orthopaedic examinations in 2013, becoming a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh - FRCS (Trauma & Orthopaedics). He was awarded his Certificate of Completion of Training by the General Medical Council in 2015.

He completed his training with an 18-month fellowship in Hand and Wrist surgery at the highly prestigious Wrightington Hospital, acknowledged as an Orthopaedic Centre of Excellence, learning the novel technique of Wide Awake Surgery. In 2016 he was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Aintree University Hospital, Liverpool, and now works at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, following a merger of the acute adult hospitals in Liverpool.
