About Mr Laszlo Zolczer
Mr Laszlo Zolczer is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with over 30 years of clinical experience, specialising in upper and lower limb surgery as well as trauma and emergency orthopaedics. He sees patients at The New Malden Diagnostic Centre and The Shirley Oaks Hospital in Croydon. Mr Zolczer completed his medical degree at Semmelweis Medical University in Budapest. He later moved to the UK for his postgraduate training in Orthopaedics and Trauma at the renowned Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Institute in Oswestry and at Croydon University Hospital, where he trained under the umbrella of St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Since 1994, Mr Zolczer has worked extensively in Croydon, developing a broad and advanced practice in trauma and limb surgery. In 2001, he was appointed Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon, a full-time position he continues to hold. With a background in both accident and emergency medicine and orthopaedic surgery, Mr Zolczer is particularly experienced in managing traumatic injuries and complex musculoskeletal conditions. He is a member of the British Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and is fully registered with the General Medical Council. Clinical Interests and Treatments Upper Limb • Shoulder pain, bursitis, and frozen shoulder • Tennis elbow/Golfer’s elbow – injections or surgical release • De Quervain’s tenosynovitis – non-surgical or surgical treatment • Elbow bursitis – injections or surgery • Ganglion cysts – surgical excision • Carpal tunnel syndrome – decompression under local anaesthetic • Trigger finger – surgical release • Dupuytren’s contracture – surgical treatment • Hand, wrist, and elbow fractures – fixation or removal of implants Lower Limb • Knee arthritis – physiotherapy, injections, or keyhole surgery • Meniscal tears – arthroscopy • Patellar tendinopathy (jumper’s knee) • Foot and ankle sports injuries and tendon issues • Ligament sprains and ganglion cysts • Big toe and lesser toe deformities – surgical and non-surgical management • Bunions and overlapping/crossed toes – corrective surgery • Plantar fasciitis and heel spur – injection or surgery • Morton’s neuroma – injection or surgical removal • Ingrown toenails Diagnostic Services • On-site X-ray and dynamic ultrasound • Ultrasound-guided steroid injections • MRI, CT and SPECT-CT scans • Nerve conduction studies (EMG) • Routine and specialist blood tests
