About Dr Karoly David
Mr Karoly M David is a Senior Consultant Spinal Neurosurgeon at Barking, Havering and Redbridge NHS Trust where he established a service for percutaneous balloon kyphoplasty for painful fractures of the vertebrae. Additionally, he holds an Honorary Consultant Neurosurgeon post at Southend University Hospital. He is an experienced and cautious practitioner who carefully considers all treatment options for spinal disorders. He spends time explaining the natural progression of a condition and the various treatment options to his patients, in plain English, before any decisions are made about treatment. He qualified as a doctor in Pécs, Hungary in 1982. After two years working as a trainee in Pathology he started his basic and then specialist training in Neurosurgery at the University of Pécs, Hungary. Having passed the Neurology and Neurosurgery Board Examinations, he came to the UK in 1993 to gain further experience. He passed the European Board Examination in 1995 and the FRCS Surgical Neurology Examination in 1998. His UK neurosurgical training took place at the National Hospital in Queen Square, Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital, Charing Cross and Oldchurch Hospitals. In his scarce free time, he enjoys listening to classical music travelling and spending time with his family.
