Mr Jose Lopez graduated from Dentistry in Madrid in 2005 and began his dental career in his home town of the North-West coast of Spain. He currently works for Mannamead Cosmetic Dental Centre in Plymouth as a Dental Surgeon.
During his degree, he achieved a Diploma of Internal Student of Medical Orofacial Pathology and also volunteered for the project ‘Dentists without Borders' in Nicaragua. This project provided free dental care for people in less developed countries, with the aim of showing the importance of having access to dental care. Upon completion of his degree, he undertook a course of Oral Surgery in Cuba. This enabled him to develop his experience of surgical extractions and dental implants.
In 2006, Mr Lopez moved to the United Kingdom and has worked in several NHS and private dental practices in Cardiff, Plymouth and Ashburton. To further enhance his interest in dentistry, he undertook many postgraduate courses in periodontology, oral surgery and applying dental implants. He achieved a Diploma in Oral Surgery at Centro Medico Teknon in Barcelona in 2007, and in the same year, he was awarded a Certificate in Implant Dentistry at the University of Seville. Later in 2013, he completed a Master's degree in Dental Implants and Periodontology at the University of Alcala in Madrid.
Mr Lopez currently lives with his wife and three children in the South West of England and apart from his dental work he enjoys swimming, cycling and playing basketball.
