About Mr Ian Grant
Mr Ian Grant is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, with specialist expertise in hand surgery, skin cancer, and cosmetic surgery. Appointed as a substantive consultant in 2005, he established the hospital’s first regular children’s hand surgery clinic in 2007, which now manages over 180 referrals annually. His clinical interests include adult and paediatric hand surgery, peripheral nerve surgery, reconstructive surgery following trauma or cancer, and skin cancer management as a core member of the Addenbrooke’s multi-disciplinary team. Mr Grant is recognised by the Royal College of Surgeons as a Certified Cosmetic Surgeon in breast and body contouring procedures (including breast augmentation, breast reduction, mastopexy, and abdominoplasty). He is listed on the GMC’s specialist register for plastic surgery. Mr Grant is a full member of: The British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS), the British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH), and The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS). He trained in Medicine at Oxford University, followed by plastic surgery training in Salisbury, East Grinstead, Mount Vernon, and Cambridge. He undertook advanced fellowships in hand surgery, microsurgery, and aesthetic surgery at St James’s Hospital, Leeds, and in Melbourne, Australia. Mr Grant has held senior leadership and teaching roles, including Clinical Director for Plastic Surgery at Addenbrooke’s, Cambridge University Senior Clinical Tutor, Council member of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand, and editorial board member of the Journal of Hand Surgery (European Volume).
