About
Mr Downie trained as a dentist in Liverpool before later pursuing a medical degree in Southampton. He trained in general surgery before focusing on maxillofacial surgery on the South Coast Training Programme. He working extensively in the UK as well as in the United States and in India. He was appointed to a consultant post in Salisbury in 2002.
Mr Downie has a broad practice including head and neck cancer, facial trauma and deformity, however, his recent work has concentrated on facial deformity surgery and he has become a core member of the Spires Cleft team. Here his role is to undertake orthognathic surgery for the whole of the Spires Cleft service.
Mr Downie also works at the Bond Dental Clinic, where he provides a full range of oral and maxillofacial assessments and treatments including complex teeth extractions, dentoalveolar surgery, sinus elevation procedures and temporomandibular joint disorders.
