About Mr Henry Atkinson
Mr Henry Atkinson received his medical degree from the University of Edinburgh in 1998. He qualified as a Bone and Joint (Trauma and Orthopaedic) Surgeon from 2008. As part of his training he completed renowned fellowships in Adelaide, Australia as well as in Canada and Serbia. His fellowships allowed him to gain extensive expertise in all lower limb surgeries. Mr Atkinson is thus adept and has experience in managing problems of the hip, knee, ankle and foot. He has a particular interest in the management of sporting injuries. Mr Atkinson regularly lectures in Belgrade, Serbia, at QMUL and London Metropolitan University and gives advice on the design and implementation of research projects. He is Assistant Professor at St George's Medical School. He is currently appointed as a consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma surgeon at North Middlesex University hospital (NMUH), where he has received several NHS Clinical Excellence Awards. He has held the positions of DIvisonal Director for Surgery and Cancer Services and was also the NMUH Hospital Trauma Director. He is a member of the NCL Network Board. Known for the energy and enthusiasm he brings to his practice and patients, he balances work with spending time with his wife and young family in the North London area.
