Mr George Whitwell
About
Mr Whitwell completed his medical degree at Leicester University Medical School and undertook specialist orthopaedic training in Yorkshire. He went on to complete advanced fellowship training in hip and knee surgery in Warwick, York, and Leeds. In 2009, he was awarded Fellowship in Trauma and Orthopaedics by the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He is a strong advocate of enhanced recovery pathways, aiming to optimise patient outcomes and support faster, safer rehabilitation following joint replacement surgery.
In addition to his clinical work, Mr Whitwell is committed to medical education and is actively involved in training junior orthopaedic surgeons, as well as teaching on regional training courses. He is also engaged in research, with several publications and presentations at international conferences.
