Mr Duraisamy Ravichandran is a Consultant Surgeon and the Clinical Director of Breast Surgery at the Luton and Dunstable University Hospital, while also running a clinical practice in breast and endocrine surgery. He attends to patients with thyroid and parathyroid problems, hernias and other general surgical problems, performing benign breast surgery and breast cancer surgery including implant and latissimus dorsi muscle-based immediate reconstructions of the breast.

Bringing over 17 years of experience, Mr Ravichandran qualified from the University of Colombo and became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1992, completing his higher surgical training in Wessex and East Anglia (Addenbrooke's and Norfolk and Norwich teaching hospitals). He also undertook a PhD in Cancer Medicine (Oncology) at the University of Southampton (1998) and was appointed as a Consultant Surgeon at L & D in 2001.

Outside his clinical work, Mr Ravichandran is a teacher, trainer and examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS and FRCS Exit Examination in General Surgery), UCL and Cambridge Medical Schools. He is also an active Clinical Researcher, with over 60 Peer-Reviewed Publications in breast and endocrine disease and a large number of National and International Presentations.
