Mr Chukwunonso Orakwue (MB.BS, FWACS, PgDipMedEd, FHEA, FRCOG) qualified from the College of Medicine of the University of Lagos in 1991, and worked in teaching hospitals including the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (Nigeria), Birmingham Women’s Hospital, University of Dundee, Royal Stoke University Hospital, City Hospital in Birmingham and Royal Free Hospital in London. He has Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Advanced Skills in Laparoscopic Surgery, Hysteroscopy, and Emergency Gynaecology and Early Pregnancy Complications. He is currently an NHS consultant at New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton.

Over the years, Mr Orakwue has held several roles including clinical lead for Gynaecological oncology, clinical lead for endometriosis service, lead for gynaecology services, clinical director for Obstetrics and Gynaecology. More recently, he was the Regional Clinical lead for Gynaecology at the NHS England (Midlands). He is currently the Lead Colposcopist and the Lead for emergency Gynaecology and Early Pregnancy Services at Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust.



His specialises in keyhole (robotic and laparoscopic) operations for common gynaecological conditions including ovarian cyst, endometriosis, pelvic adhesions, and pelvic pain; treatment of heavy and painful periods including removal of polyps and fibroids from the womb and also treats women with abnormal vaginal bleeding,  abnormal cervical smears, endometriosis, and adenomyosis. Mr Orakwue performs operative hysteroscopic procedures including for polyps and fibroids, and hysteroscopic ablation for heavy periods.

He is also the founder and a director at Whiterock Medicare, a private practice focused on care which aims to achieve the best possible experience and outcome for the patients.

He is a Fellow of West African College of Surgeons (FWACS), a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK), Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologist since 2013, a British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (BSCCP)-accredited colposcopist, member of the British Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy.
