About Mr Christopher Hemmerdinger
Mr. Chris Hemmerdinger is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Macclesfield District General Hospital, where he is the lead for the glaucoma service. He was appointed as a consultant in 2011 at Warrington and Halton Foundation Trust where he spent 5 years and was clinical lead in Ophthalmology, ENT and Oral Surgery. In 2016 Chris relocated to East Cheshire trust. He graduated in Optometry from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology before beginning his medical training at Manchester University Medical School. He went on to train in Neurosurgery and Emergency medicine before beginning training in Ophthalmology at the Royal Bolton Hospital and St Paul's Eye Unit, Liverpool. Mr. Hemmerdinger has a specialist interest in glaucoma, cataracts and corneal diseases. He has vast experience in glaucoma surgery, particularly non-penetrating glaucoma surgery, such as Viscocanalostomy and deep Sclerectomy.
