About Mr Bran Sivakumar

Mr Sivakumar has over 17 years of specialist hand surgery experience. He has trained with orthopaedic and plastic surgeons in centres of excellence around the world, including the prestigious Institut de La Main in Paris. He now works within London's leading children's hospitals: Great Ormond Street Hospital, The Portland Hospital for Women and Children and the Harley Street Clinic.

Mr Sivakumar is also actively involved in children's hand and upper limb surgery research work and supervises both MSc and PhD projects at University College and King's College London. In addition, Mr Sivakumar is an honorary senior lecturer at the Institute of Child Health. His main research interests are embryology of the upper limb and children's hand conditions.

Mr Sivakumar has published in both scientific and clinical journals, including the American and European Journals of Hand Surgery. He has also been published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA). He has attended conferences and presented at international meetings where he has received a prestigious international research award at the European Conference of Scientists and Plastic Surgeons (ECSAPS). Mr Sivakumar is on the faculty for a number of international symposia on children's hand surgery including the World and European Congresses for Children's Hand and Upper Limb Anomalies.

Mr Sivakumar also sees adult hand surgery patients at the Royal Free Hospital, The Hospital of St John of Elizabeth and the Platinum Medical Centre part of the Wellington Hospital. Therefore, he is able to provide complete long-term care for his paediatric patients through to adulthood.
