About Mr Benjamin Gooding
Mr Benjamin Gooding is a Consultant Shoulder and Elbow Surgeon with extensive fellowship training and a specialist focus on sports injuries, soft tissue injuries, fractures, and degenerative conditions such as arthritis affecting the shoulder and elbow. He performs over 500 procedures annually and consistently monitors clinical outcomes to support evidence-based practice. Mr Gooding completed his orthopaedic training at Nottingham University Hospitals, Derby Hospitals, and Chesterfield Royal Hospital. His advanced fellowship training includes the Nottingham and Sheffield Shoulder and Elbow Fellowships, as well as international fellowships at The Mayo Clinic and Harvard Orthopaedics in Boston (British Shoulder and Elbow Society Travelling Fellow, 2012), and Southern Orthopaedics and The Sydney Shoulder Institute in Australia (Malkin Travelling Fellow, 2011). He holds advisory roles with leading orthopaedic companies including Smith and Nephew, Arthrex, Exactech, JRI, and Lockdown. He contributes to the development of orthopaedic devices such as the JRI VAIOS shoulder replacement system and the Lockdown synthetic ligament for clavicle and elbow stabilisation. Mr Gooding has held several leadership roles including Executive Board Member and Clinical Lead for Orthopaedics at Circle Nottingham NHS Treatment Centre, and Chair of the Innovation Steering Committee for Circle Health. He has also served on the British Elbow and Shoulder Society (BESS) Education Committee and co-organised the BESS Annual Congress in 2014.
