Mr Anil Hemandas is a renowned expert in the field of Minimally Invasive Colon and Rectal Cancer Surgery. He is also a specialist in surgical problems such as Hernias, Gallstones and Haemorrhoids.
He graduated in 1994 from University of Health Sciences. After his basic surgical training, he undertook a period of research at the National University Hospital in Singapore where he studied the molecular basis of Colorectal Cancer and mechanisms of the spread of cancer to distant organs beyond the bowel.
He did higher specialist training and colorectal sub-specialisation in Wessex where his laparoscopic skills were developed at the National Laparoscopic Training Unit at the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth.
He then did subspecialist fellowship training in Edinburgh at Western General Hospital and also at St Marks Hospital and Academic Institute in Harrow, London.
