Mr. Gulati underwent basic surgical training in Cambridge, Glasgow, and Preston. His specialist orthopaedic training was completed as part of the Oxford Orthopaedic Training Programme, which involved placements at the highly prestigious Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre and John Radcliffe Hospitals. He also pursued a fellowship at the arthroplasty unit in Nottingham, where he was introduced to the management of complicated hip and knee problems. Mr. Gulati learned how to assess and treat various exercise-related musculoskeletal problems during his placement at the Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto. He currently holds a consultant post within Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals Trust. Mr. Gulati has also pursued visiting fellowships in Germany, France, and Switzerland.
As he has a strong interest in research with PhD in Orthopaedics, he has written up to 5 book chapters, 25 original papers, and has delivered over 50 academic presentations at various national and international meetings. Notably, Mr. Gulati is one of the very few orthopaedic surgeons who also has experience of performing ultrasound-guided joint and soft tissue injections for various different pathologies. Mr. Gulati is a member of the British Medical Association, British Association of the Surgery of Knee, British Foot, and Ankle Society and Girdlestone Orthopaedic Research Society.
