About

Dr Mohammed Sharif is a highly experienced Consultant Rheumatologist with a strong focus on diagnosing and treating autoimmune and inflammatory conditions affecting the joints, muscles, bones, and soft tissues. He is particularly known for his patient-centred approach, prioritising clear communication and high standards of care to achieve optimal outcomes.

Dr Sharif has extensive expertise across the full spectrum of rheumatological conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, axial spondyloarthropathy, systemic lupus erythematosus, gout, vasculitis, osteoporosis, and osteoarthritis. He has a specialist interest in inflammatory arthritis and is also experienced in performing joint and soft tissue injections, nerve blocks, and muscle biopsies.

He is a substantive full-time consultant at King’s College Hospital, where he has worked for several years, and also undertakes private practice at Shirley Oaks Hospital. He holds postgraduate qualifications in medicine and rheumatology (MRCP) and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2010.

Dr Sharif completed his specialist rheumatology training across a number of leading UK institutions, including Chapel Allerton Hospital, Bradford Royal Infirmary, and King’s College Hospital, as well as centres in the Kent, Surrey, and Sussex region. He was awarded his Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in 2017, after which he held locum consultant roles at St George’s Hospital and Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital before taking up his substantive consultant post.

Alongside his clinical work, Dr Sharif is actively involved in teaching and mentoring, delivering education to both undergraduate and postgraduate trainees. He regularly lectures, runs tutorials, and supports junior doctors and aspiring medical students.
