Dr Mohamed Houcem Amiour is a highly experienced Interventional Cardiologist with an extensive international career across the Middle East, France, and North Africa. He is currently practising in Dubai as a Specialist Interventional Cardiologist at HMS Mirdif Private Hospital and Al Garhoud Hospital. Prior to this, he worked at Emirates Specialty Hospital (DHCC) and served as a consultant for interventional cardiology services across multiple UAE healthcare groups, including Thumbay Hospital Dubai & Ajman, Emirates Group, and HMS Group. Between 2018 and 2020, he was Head of the Cardiology Department and Specialist Interventional Cardiologist at Thumbay Hospital Dubai.
Before relocating to the UAE, Dr Amiour worked in France for several years as a Consultant and Specialist Interventional Cardiologist at Fleyriat Hospital in Bourg-en-Bresse and St Joseph St Luc Hospital in Lyon. His earlier training included specialist and resident cardiology posts within the French healthcare system in Lyon university hospital of Louis Pradel , La clinique Protestant Lyon, Hopital Saint Joseph Saint luc Lyon and Fleyriat Hospital Bourg-en-Bresse, as well as cardiology residency training at the University Hospital of Constantine in Algeria.
Dr Amiour obtained his MD degree from the Faculty of Medicine in Constantine, Algeria, and holds both Algerian and French Cardiology Board Certifications. He is registered with the French National Physicians Council and has completed multiple postgraduate university diplomas, including Interventional Cardiology (Paris V Descartes), Echocardiography, Intensive Cardiac Care, and advanced Cardiovascular Imaging (Cardiac MRI and CT) from Lyon 1 University. He is certified in Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support.
An active member of the European Society of Cardiology and the French Cardiology Society, Dr Amiour regularly participates in and speaks at international cardiology congresses and specialist meetings across Europe and the Middle East. His advanced training includes transcatheter valve therapies, cardiac rhythm devices (pacemakers, ICD, CRT), intracoronary imaging (OCT, FFR), complex coronary interventions, pulmonary hypertension, and cardiometabolic disease. He has also completed specialist training with leading global medical technology institutions including Medtronic, Boston Scientific, Edwards Lifesciences, Siemens, and Biotronik, reflecting his strong commitment to advanced, evidence-based cardiovascular care.
