They have a keen interest in ophthalmic training and are currently the Regional Advisor for the South West Thames region for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and are a member of the ophthalmology specialty advisory group at the London School of Ophthalmology.
They are a former council member of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and former member of both the professional standards and training committees. In 2013 they were presented with the Jonathan Kersley award for the eponymous lecture at ECLSO. They have also organised two contact lens themed seminars at EuCornea and remain an invited speaker.
