Dr Michelle Potts

Dr. Michelle Potts is a highly qualified Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years of experience. Since obtaining her qualifications in 2005, she has worked across various NHS and private settings, offering specialised psychological assessments and interventions to individuals of all ages, including children, adolescents, and adults with mental health needs and neurodevelopmental disorders. In her practice, Dr. Potts utilises a diverse range of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy, tailoring her interventions to meet the unique needs of each client. She is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), offering this modality to both adults and children. Additionally, Dr. Potts holds a diploma in family therapy. Throughout her career, Dr. Potts has been dedicated to providing teaching, supervision, and consultation to staff, contributing to the development of innovative service initiatives. She played a key role in initiating CAMHS-based school services in Westminster. Dr. Potts is highly skilled in conducting cognitive assessments and diagnostic evaluations for conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (using tools like ADOS-2). Her expertise extends to research, having been involved in a comparative study evaluating the effectiveness of CBT-adapted treatment versus counselling for children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder. In addition to her clinical work, she also conducts medico-legal assessments primarily for Civil Courts.
