About Dr Michael Soo
Dr Michael Soo is a colorectal and general surgeon who specialises in minimally invasive endoscopic and laparoscopic surgery. He has attended numerous workshops to hone his skills and is the first and only surgeon in New South Wales to provide endoscopic treatment for Pilonidal disease. Dr Soo also specialises in complex lower gastrointestinal surgery such as stomach surgery, gallstone removal, adrenal gland surgery, anti-reflux surgery, and abdominal hernia repair, with a particular emphasis on the laparoscopic (keyhole) method. Dr Soo gained his medical qualification from the University of Sydney before completing his initial surgical training at Westmead Hospital. He undertook his advanced surgical training at the Prince of Wales Hospital and subsequently embarked on a 5-year intense training program in Upper and Lower Gastrointestinal surgery at some of Australia's leading surgical centres. Dr Soo has authored several scientific and research publications throughout his career and has had his work published in The Lancet, a renowned medical journal.
