About Dr Michael Musalek
Dr. med. Michael Musalek ist Facharzt für Psychiatrie und Neurologie sowie Facharzt für Psychiatrie und Psychotherapeutische Medizin. Er ist außerdem ausgebildeter Psychotherapeut. Dr. med. Musalek studierte Medizin an der Universität Wien, wo er 1979 promovierte. Seine Ausbildung zum Facharzt für Psychiatrie und Neurologie schloss er 1986 ab. Im Jahr 1993 erlangte er die Qualifikation zum Psychotherapeuten nach dem Psychotherapeutengesetz und erhielt das Diplom für Psychotherapeutische Medizin der Österreichischen Ärztekammer. Dr. med. Musalek ist seit 1993 gerichtlich beeideter Sachverständiger für Psychiatrie. Im Jahr 1990 erhielt er die Venia Docendi für das gesamte Gebiet der Psychiatrie. Seit 1997 ist er als außerordentlicher Universitätsprofessor für Psychiatrie an der Medizinischen Fakultät der Universität Wien tätig. Dr. med. Musalek ist Autor zahlreicher wissenschaftlicher Publikationen und Mitherausgeber mehrerer Fachzeitschriften. Seine wissenschaftlichen Hauptinteressengebiete sind Sozialästhetik, Phänomenologie psychischer Störungen, empirische und theoretische Psychopathologie, medizinische Geisteswissenschaften sowie klinische Diagnostik und Behandlungsforschung.
