About Dr Mark Aitken
Dr Mark Aitken qualified, with merit, from University College Hospital London in 1999. During his General Practice training he worked in the UK, New Zealand and Australia in fields including emergency, paediatrics, obstetrics & gynaecology, neonatology and general medicine. Dr Aitken joined Roodlane in April 2011. After qualifying as a General Practitioner in 2005, he worked for two years as an army doctor, looking after soldiers and their families at a tank barracks in the South of England. This provided experience in sports medicine and occupational health. He obtained the MRCGP qualification in 2006 and subsequently spent four years working in Western Australia. There he worked as a General Practitioner, but also as a part time skin cancer physician after being awarded a certificate in Skin Cancer Surgery from the University of Queensland. Dr Aitken's other achievements include a Masters in Human Molecular Genetics and two published journal papers.
