About Dr Marisa Taylor
Dr Marisa Taylor is a highly accomplished and experienced Consultant Dermatologist with expertise in various fields of dermatology. Her specialised areas include acne treatment, acne scar management, skin surgery, laser and light therapies, skin cancer treatment, medical dermatology, dermatology for skin of colour, aesthetic dermatology, intense pulsed light procedures, and skin biopsies, among others. She currently serves as an honorary senior lecturer and previously held the position of undergraduate lead at St. Mary's Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. Dr Taylor practices privately at the Stratum Dermatology Clinic and OneWelbeck Skin Health & Allergy in London. Dr Taylor completed her medical degree at The University of the West Indies in Jamaica in 2002. She then pursued her specialist training in dermatology in South Wales. During her training, she achieved distinctions in her diploma in clinical dermatology (2006) and her master's degree in dermatology from Cardiff University (2006), followed by her PhD in Dermatology at the same university. In addition to her extensive expertise, Dr Taylor has a strong interest in aesthetic dermatology and has made significant contributions to the field. Her passion for teaching and research was evident during her time at Cardiff University, where she served as a tutor for clinical and practical dermatology diplomas and supervised master's degree students in clinical dermatology. She also plays a vital role as a regular journal reviewer for prestigious publications, including the British Journal of Dermatology and the Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology.
