About Dr Manuela Cresswell
Dr Manuela Cresswell is a Consultant ENT Surgeon based in Plymouth, practising privately at Nuffield Health Plymouth Hospital and holding an NHS post at University Hospital Plymouth, Derriford. She specialises in otology and disorders of balance, offering expert care for both adults and children. Her practice includes advanced treatments such as endoscopic ear surgery, a minimally invasive technique that eliminates the need for a visible scar.
Dr Cresswell completed her medical degree (MD, Doctor of Medicine and Surgery) at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in 2009 before undertaking higher surgical training in the South West Peninsula. She went on to complete two prestigious fellowships focused on middle ear and skull base surgery, as well as the management of dizziness. Training alongside internationally recognised leaders in balance medicine and endoscopic ear surgery has helped shape her highly specialised clinical approach.
Awarded multiple prizes for her research and humanitarian work in global health, Dr Cresswell also holds an MSc in Healthcare Management, Leadership and Innovation and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2022. Her research interests include tinnitus, dizziness, informed consent, and paediatric ENT care. Outside of medicine, she enjoys horse-riding and scuba-diving.
