Dr Liane Hubbins

Dr. Liane Hubbins is a senior clinical psychologist with over 10 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families facing a wide range of emotional difficulties. She has extensive experience in both NHS and independent settings, and has played a key role in developing and leading NHS clinical psychology services. Additionally, Dr. Hubbins has provided management and supervision to both qualified and assistant clinical psychologists. She is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and is an associate fellow of the British Psychological Society. Her approach is warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental, helping patients feel safe and supported as they explore their emotions and experiences. Dr. Hubbins understands that many people go through challenging emotional experiences at different stages of life, which can significantly impact their well-being. For some, distressing feelings can be traced to a specific trigger, while for others, it can seem to come out of nowhere. As a clinical psychologist, Dr. Hubbins works collaboratively with her patients to help them gain a deeper understanding of their emotions and reactions. She focuses on developing strategies to reduce and manage difficult feelings and unhelpful behavioural patterns. Her ultimate goal is to help individuals build a life that feels more fulfilling and in alignment with their values and aspirations. Dr. Hubbins works with people dealing with a variety of issues, including anxiety, phobias, panic, health anxiety, social anxiety, stress, depression, low self-esteem, anger, identity issues, trauma, relationship difficulties, and challenges at work. She also specialises in helping individuals adjust to health and neurological conditions such as chronic fatigue syndrome, chronic pain, diabetes, brain injury, and progressive neurological conditions. Having completed doctoral-level training in several psychological therapies, Dr. Hubbins is highly skilled in approaches such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), EMDR, narrative therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), neuropsychology, and health psychology. She also incorporates person-centred, systemic, and psychodynamic approaches when appropriate.
